  • Royal Flying Doctors To the Rescue

Now, as we all cancel our QANTAS frequent flyer points and join a new airline, can we all take note of one airline. The Royal Flying Doctor Service, bless them. Under funded and greatly ignored, have a look at how they came to the rescue of our flying kangaroo in the recent mishap near Exmouth. After the Perth bound airbus made an emergency landing at a military airstrip in the Australian desert , the Royal Flying doctors transported the most seriously injured patients to Perth. We should all be putting our hand in pockets to support them. I hope the State Government is taking note of how they handled this recent QANTAS crisis. Maybe QANTAS should be asking passengers to donate loose change to the Flying Doctor Services!

  • Detonating a Whale

Ewh! OK, when a whale is obviously in distress and dying I am all for humanely putting it down. But I think the actions of the Jurien Bay wildlife officers was simply awful. Blowing up a dying 15 tonne Humpback whale with explosives isn’t good, no matter how you look at it. This poor mammal took 15 minutes to die after one detonation and a series of gunshots failed to put it out of its misery. I know in the wild it would have suffered longer, but my mind can’t reconcile that fact they blew a living thing up. See, this is the reason I don’t watch Animal Planet.
